Praying in Lisbon

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you so much for your prayers. Yesterday, we spent the morning praying from the highest point overlooking the city of Lisbon. God is working among many different nationalities in this cosmopolitan city. Right now, there are 15 missionaries in the city who are committed to see the evangelical church grow and begin a revival for all of western Europe. The churches we have seen are sending missionaries from Portugal.

After worshiping at the Third Baptist Church in Lisbon, we shared a meal with one of our SBC missionaries this afternoon. God truly works in miraculous and wonderful ways! Pray that the missionaries here will continue to see new believers through ESL, AlphaCourse and other evangelistic methods. We are praying for new churches to be started in the Algarve as well as in Lisbon. There are so many who think that the church will provide salvation. Pray that they will see and understand the truth of the gospel.

Tomorrow our team will fly to Nashville. We look forward to seeing you all again and asking you all to pray for the people of Portugal.

Praying in Portugese

Thank you all for praying with us. I think that we will all be praying in Portugese soon. It is such a beautiful language. This evening's prayer service began at 8:30. Ken Collier preached, and then we heard a testimony from a man who will be baptized on Sunday. What a moving experience! Portugese and Americans praying as one to allow God's Spirit to work in the lives of so many in the Allgarve region.

Tomorrow, we will go to prayer walk the tenth city in Allgarve. Pray that we will join God where He is already at work.

The Gang's All Here

Well, we all made it, and our luggage arrived on the next flight. This evening we took Neilson, Esther, and their two children, Neilson and Christina, out for supper. Following supper we prayerwalked in an area close to the hotel. We met a couple who are members of the Baptist church in Faro. They invited us in for prayer and to show us a project that the husband is working on. For the past two years he has been copying the Bible in a beautiful long-hand script. What an encouragement! Hopefully, we can post their photo soon.

Thank you all for your prayers,
Portugal mission team

So far all flights are on time! Thank you for your prayers.
Todays scripture is Romans 15:5, "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus"
